Meet Pooch, part Pug, part Cocker. So when people ask us his breed, we say he’s a mean little Pucker! Truthfully, he’s not mean, just very protective. So I take him with me on walks through the woods.
I chose this photo so I could introduce you to Kenneth Todd and at the same time thank him for sending me a tutorial in pdf format with easy instruction on how he edits some of the photos for his blog. It took me more time to decide which photos to experiment with than it did to take the tutorial. I have included a “before” shot in the slideshow below for comparison.

Thanks, Kenneth, for sharing your knowledge and expertise!
Photo of the Week series: Every Sunday in 2012 I will either share a photo from my archives or something new I just can’t wait to get feedback on for future art shows/exhibits.
Blogger participation: My hope is to receive enough input on each week’s photo to later post a Bloggers’ Choice of the Month and wrap up 2012 with a Bloggers’ Choice of the Year.
It’s amazing how cropping can strengthen a photo by bringing the subject in closer. And I like the vignette that you added. Very strong photo.
Thank you, Dezra. I was so excited to learn how everyone was adding the vignette.
I think he’s cute!
Kenneth has great tips and photos! I really like his work!
Pucker reminds of a dog we had as kids! Very cute! She was also protective of us as well.
So happy my post brought back fond memories. Thanks for the compliment.
Glad to introduce Pooch to you. He is a very smart dog. As for Kenneth, I am glad you follow his work. It is Top Notch! How wonderful of him to share his expertise for free.
Beauitful dog, and the contrast with the context is striking.
Your compliments mean the world to me. Thanks so much!!
Is it a bulldog? 🙂
I think the Pug is in the bulldog family. 🙂 thanks for viewing.
Great transition. The cropping really can pull the focus in and bring out the best capture! Great work. : )
Thanks for the compliment. He is a handsome subject.
