19/52 Peach Bandits Busted

Lola Girl caught these adolescent raccoons stealing from my dwarf peach trees last summer … in my front yard … in broad daylight! She kept the inexperienced thieves treed until I could take their mug shot. Satisfied I had a possible Blue Ribbon winner, I called off the dog and let the juvies  go with a warning. The little masked marauders scurried off into the woods to better plan their next caper.

P.S. This was my entry in our Lt. Governor’s Celebration of Hoosier Women Artists competition in March.

It did not win. 😦

Photo of the Week series: Every Sunday in 2012 I will either share a photo from my archives or something new I just can’t wait to get feedback on for future art shows/exhibits.

Blogger participation: My hope is to receive enough input on each week’s photo to later post a Bloggers’ Choice of the Month and wrap up 2012 with a Bloggers’ Choice of the Year.

  1. What a wonderful shot. I love it! I remember raccoons breaking into our camp and stealing our baked goods. The funniest thing was the trail of paper towels that went into the woods. Were they wiping their hands as they left?

    1. They are so cute, aren’t they. I’m just so glad they froze in their tracks so I could get such a great close-up! Appreciate the compliment, Russel. Also, I see you have been busy today looking around my blog. Thanks so much, glad you liked several of the posts! 🙂
