This beauty danced with the beasts of the woodland next to my house about a week ago. I’m not sure if it is a moth or a butterfly.
Photo of the Week series: Every Sunday in 2012 I will either share a photo from my archives or something new I just can’t wait to get feedback on for future art shows/exhibits.
Blogger participation: My hope is to receive enough input on each week’s photo to later post a Bloggers’ Choice of the Month and wrap up 2012 with a Bloggers’ Choice of the Year.
Great set of captures!
Thanks so much, Kurt, for the compliment and the follow! I just took a quick glance at your propaganda and I love those doors and the UCLA post. Your photos are very professional!!
Thanks, appreciate it.
My pleasure!
I must plant golden rod in my garden – maybe the butterflies with visit me!
It grows wild all around my home; if I tried planting anything, it would surely die. I have a black thumb! Thanks for visiting. I see you are busy as a bee over on your blog! 🙂
I believe it’s a moth called Junonia Coenia http://www.discoverlife.org/mp/20p?see=I_JP551&res=640 Great photo!
Thank you Karen for the compliment and the info; will check the link out. 🙂
I like how the flowers accent the stripes on the bees.
Thanks so much. Delighted you like it!
Beautiful. I think that’s the Buckeye butterfly. They have such distinct markings. What a great capture, Sheila!!
Thanks Lisa. I appreciate the compliment.
Vote for moth too. Very def “mothy” antennae. She’s a beauty!
Wow, you may be right. I appreciate the visit and the compliment, Melba.

I appreciate the “Wow” Fergie!
