I recently spent some time with my twin grandchildren … two original pieces of work … created by The Master himself.
I took my camera along so I could color sketch them while they were color sketching for me. I needed practice with this effect on my Nikon D5100 and they needed to hone their motor skills to be prepared for preschool this fall.
Masterpieces in the making: Choosing just the right colors,
To master their scissor skills, they sculpted some of their creations into more abstract pieces.
I think they are ready. I’m the one who needs more practice.
These masterpieces are priceless and can be viewed by invitation only.

Children create such wonderful primal art. I love your photo-art.
Their simple creations can become quite dramatic. Thanks, Brenda, for the compliment. That effect is quite fun to play around with.
Is it something photoshop does?
No, it is a special effect setting on my camera.
Ooo, cool!
Love all three…
I’m not a great lover of this type photography… but I must admit I did enjoy these…
Glad you enjoyed it, Bulldog. Yeah, I’m not sure what circumstances (serious photography) would call for me to use this whimsical, storybook effect unless I was creating a cartoon trip or maybe a children’s book or something like that.
These are cool and different! I’ve got this setting also, but haven’t messed with it yet. Your subjects are so much more colorful than my normal subjects. .. My black and white dogs! It does take talent to know what will look good in this setting and you’ve achieved it!
What a wonderful compliment! Thanks so much.
