Angry Peacock chosen for another exhibition

I am so honored and thrilled to announce I was notified Oct. 2 by Indiana University East campus art director Ed Thornburg that my abstract digital art entry, “Angry Peacock,” was chosen for the 39th Annual Whitewater Valley Art Exhibition at IU East in Richmond.

The competition, juried September 29, included 184 art pieces by 70 artists from Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky or Michigan.

Of the number of submissions, 58 works by 43 artists were selected by a three-judge panel for the exhibition in the Tom Thomas Gallery and Meijer Artway in Whitewater Hall.

The panel chose my photography-based abstraction based on the photographic image only. For the exhibition,  a lustre image is face-mounted to acrylic and presented in a black float frame with silver inner border highlighting the image.

The exhibit opened with an artist/donor reception on the evening of October 20 in Whitewater Hall. The artists were invited to that event, and one First Place, three Second Place, and four Third Place awards, and five Honorable Mention awards were announced.

The exhibition can be viewed through Dec. 8.
