I am excited to announce that one of my photography-based digital abstractions, “Vegas Elvis 1977,” will be on display with exceptional artwork by very accomplished artists selected for the 75th Annual Wabash Valley Exhibition in the Sheldon Swope Art Museum at Terre Haute, Indiana.

The exhibition opens Sept. 6 with award announcements on the third floor and a reception on the second floor of the Swope at 25 S. Seventh St. The exhibition runs through Oct. 20.
From nearly 470 entries submitted by 165 artists, juror David Butler selected a variety of styles and media, choosing 57 works by 45 artists. Butler is former director of the Swope Art Museum (1995-2000) and current Executive Director of the Knoxville Museum of Art.

“Vegas Elvis 1977” is a dye sublimation print on aluminum, floated off black acrylic. This same abstraction was one of 35 entries selected this spring for the “Anything Goes” regional juried exhibition in Arts Illiana Gallery in Terre Haute.
