Okay, this is the best I could do without a zoom and a tripod on a quick drive-by through Mansfield, Indiana, and nearby countryside just to guage how the fall colors will present themselves by Oct. 10. The Parke County Covered Bridge Festival runs through Oct. 19.

Who’s scaring whom? Just had to share this horrified look on my granddaughter’s face when her dad said to look at the big bug crawling on grandma’s head just so they both would face forward for me to take their picture. Any other 3-year-old would be scarred for life by a man in a frightening mask forcing them to do something they didn’t want to do, like hold still for just 1 second!
