A closed flowerhead: One of the last of the sunflowers to bloom where it was planted in a garden in Clay County, Indiana.

The explosion of fall color was fashionably late in my corner of the world. Unfortunately the season peaked in late October – after the annual Parke County Covered Bridge Festival (more posts on fall and festival later).
This Putto is the same garden statue featured in my Putto in Spring post and my (winter) Under His Wing photo.
Here is the Summer Putto to complete my four seasons collection.
May the angels watch over you and keep you warm as the summer sun.
“May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord make his face to shine upon you,
and be gracious to you.
May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you,
and give you peace.”
Many more blessings in the coming year!
